Kings students with solar panel

Two schools in Birmingham are the first to benefit from a new partnership between National Grid Electricity Distribution and Solar for Schools.
Victoria Academy and Kings Academy have both been fitted with new solar panels. The installations were part-funded through a grant from National Grid, which has pledged £2.7m of investment by 2028 to help schools reach net zero goals.

A highlight in the school calendar, World Book Day always brings our staff and students together to celebrate a love of reading.
This year, was delighted to welcome Children's Laureate, Joseph Coelho.
Coelho, an Putney alumnus, started the day by reciting one of his poems and answering questions from students.

primaries have placed top among the country’s multi-academy trusts, following the publication of national standardised tests (SATs) for Key Stage 2.
Across the network, 75 percent of pupils achieved the expected standard or above in reading, writing, and maths – surpassing the national average of 59 percent by 16 percentage points. A third of our primary schools ranked in the top 10% nationally for combined outcomes.
These achievements are particularly noteworthy, considering serves one of the highest proportions of disadvantaged pupils among academy trusts.

The hard work and high aspirations of students and staff across are reflected in the final destinations data for 2023 school leavers.
An impressive 83 percentof our Year 13 graduates accepted a place at university, compared to 64 percentnationally in 2022.
Furthermore, 47 percentof all Key Stage 5 leavers have gone on to study at a top third university. This means that students are at least three times more likely to progress to top third providers compared to students nationally.

Students and staff across the network paused at 11am today to mark Remembrance Day. Our schools in Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth participated in two minutes of silence to honour fallen soldiers. In their special assemblies, schools also reflected through poetry readings, musical performances and the laying of wreaths.
